John Twombly is Internal Communication Manager at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (3,000 employees) and has worked there 21 years. While his job always included internal communication, he successfully advocated for a full-time focus in 2015. Before joining the hospital he worked in communications for a national retailer.

Twombly is two-time past president of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) St. Louis chapter and serves on the board of the Missouri Association for Hospital PR and Marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He admits he’s a politician, having served on the Edwardsville City Council from 2004-2011.
